Our Founders
Rick and Kathy Black opened Wildcat Creek Winery in 2008. They are true Indiana entrepreneurs who love the creative process of winemaking, working with a great staff, and meeting guests who drop by the winery from places near and far.
Rick earned a Masters Degree in Business from Indiana University. He worked as a corporate controller prior to retiring to pursue his dream of owning his own business. Rick devoted seven years to learning about winemaking while developing plans for a winery start-up in Tippecanoe County. In 2003-04 he developed, presented, and gained approval for a winery amendment to be added to the Tippecanoe Unified Zoning Ordinance. He served as President of the Indiana Winery & Vineyard Association and as a member of the Purdue Wine Grape Council. Rick is the Executive Winemaker and General Manager at the winery.
Kathy earned a Masters Degree in Education from Purdue University. She worked for Lafayette School Corporation as a middle school Language Arts and Social Studies teacher for 30 years. She is the Tasting Room Director and Event Coordinator at the winery.
